Optical systems

Photonics and light technologies are key components in many current technological systems. In particular, they play a fundamental role in the aerospace sector. The institute contributes to this field through both fundamental research and technological transfer. Some areas of study include:

• Study of laser systems and applications, from theoretical aspects of nonlinear optics and plasmonics to industrial applications in sectors such as aerospace or railways
• Metrology and sensing, including optical metrology and industrial inspection, development of phase evaluation algorithms for fringe pattern analysis in optical metrology, and smart LED lighting
• Aspects of quantum science and technologies, including theoretical simulation of quantum optical systems, quantum optical sensors, quantum algorithm simulations, and the implementation of these technologies in unmanned aircraft
